  Winter 2011

WinterFest was amazing! The sledding, the snowman making competition, the live Caribbean music, the bonfire, the snowball fight with the firefighters--we have it all here in Boxborough!!! And for all of you who came by and visited our table or bought a hot dog, chips or water--THANKS!!!

Our Winter Party on February 27th at Boxborough's Sargent Memorial Library was a blast! Tim Seston of frompagetoplay entertained with great stories and songs and the kids enjoyed making winter-themed crafts.

October, November and December saw playgroups, outings, our New Baby Party, and our annual Halloween Party! See our Facebook page for some pictures of these events.

Pre-K playgroup wraps up After being in separate preschools in multiple towns they are all enjoying being in school together! How wonderful for our children to start their first day in elementary school already with so many friends! J Thank you to Dawn Willis for coordinating this group!

  August 2010

Wash the Fire Truck We visited the Fire Department and got to check out all the trucks and equipment. The kids got the chance to wash the ambulance and make it (and themselves) shiny and clean!

Thoreau Club Pool Party A great turnout and gorgeous day for some summer fun. The kids swam in the pool and played in the waterpark.

Mom's Day Out Moms cruised the Concord River in style on a private catered lunch cruise!
 

  July 2010

4th Annual Summer Picnic Family fun at Flerra field where we played on the playground, had a picnic lunch and got to enjoy the summer weather. Each kid got a free ice cream from the ice cream truck we had on hand. It was a great day!

PreK Summer Reading Program at the library The four session Pre-K reading club kicked off at the Library with books and ice cream. All participating kids even got their own library card!

  June 2010

Fifer's Day Parade and Booth BFN marched, rode bikes and strolled from Blanchard Elementary school to Flerra Meadows in the town parade. The kids decorated their bikes and strollers and themselves for the march. The BFN booth sold healthy snacks as a fundraiser and handed out information to prospective members. Some of our dads even entered the volleyball tournament!

BFN Sponsored Senior Luncheon For the fourth year running BFN provided lunch for 60 seniors in town through the council on aging. This is a wonderful way BFN can support our community.

Day Trips to Bare Hill Pond in Harvard and Weezie's garden for Children in Wellesley.

Mom's Night Out Dinner and drinks at Blue Coyote in Maynard.

Dad's Night Out Winery tour at Nashoba Vineyards.

Age based Playdates all met at members' homes and the library. The Pre-K group even had a make your own pizza lunch playdate!

Annual Egg Hunt We had great weather for our annual welcome to spring egg hunt. Kids had great fun searching the grounds of Flerra playground for treasure filled plastic eggs!

BFN's Annual Winter Concert featured Mr. Vic this year! Kids danced and sang along to Mr. Vic's animated performance at the Boxborough Library. A ton of fun was had by all!

Day Trip to the Sugar House members met for a pancake breakfast and a tour of a sugarhouse to see how maple syrup is made.

Day Trip Roller Skating Families laced up those skates and had fun on the rink!

Playgroups met at member homes for toddler, preschooler and pre-k age groups. Valentine's themed crafts took center stage!

Breakfast with Santa BFN families met up at the annual breakfast with Santa at the Blanchard School. Lots of fun was had!

Cookie Swap Winter Party Kids made snowflakes, paper chains and swapped their favorite homemade cookies just in time for the holidays. Yummy! A fun break from the snow and cold.

Thanksgiving Meal Basket Drive Thanks to all the member families who donated meals for those in need to the Acton Food Pantry.

Mom's Brunch Out Moms enjoyed a morning off with casual brunch and winery tour at the Nashoba Winery.

Make a Scarecrow Outing Familes enjoyed hay rides, pumpkin picking and scarecrow making at Westwood Orchards in Harvard.

3rd Annual Halloween Party Everyone had a FANTASTIC time at our annual Halloween Party at the Blanchard School. We frosted cupcakes, danced, made lots of crafts, played on the playground, and enjoyed the bouncie house. We had some great costumes this year to show off in the costume parade!
