Boxborough Agricultural Fair BFN had a booth selling bulbs and coffee.  We raised some money and signed up a couple of new members.  We hosted a kids art contest where participants got a free apple to enter a picture and we raffled off a childrens CD to the entrants.  Congratulations to Jillian, our winner J

Multiage Playground playdates Kids enjoyed the last few summer days outdoors.

August 2008

2nd Annual Summer Picnic Family fun at Flerra field where we played on the playground, had a picnic lunch and got to play on the Boxborough Fire Department Fire Truck and Ambulance.  We even got a fun demonstration of how to put on all that fire gear!  Each kid got a free ice cream from the ice cream truck we had on hand.  It was a great day!

Wash the Fire Truck We visited the Fire Department and got to check out all the trucks and equipment.  The kids got the chance to wash the ambulance and make it (and themselves) shiny and clean!

New Baby Group-Baby Sign Language Class  The new moms were treated to a free baby sign language class.  The babies really got into it and everyone had a lot of fun.  Baby playgroups have formed-tell anyone you know with a baby to join us!

PreK Ice Cream Social at Kimball Farms Local families got a last chance to meet other families entering Kindergarten in Sept. before the start of the school year.

New Baby Party BFN has 14 new babies this year!  The new moms were pampered with a brunch, infant massage class and a huge gift bag of goodies for themselves and the babies. 

Day Trips to 4th of July at NARA Park in Acton and Blueberry Picking

Dad and Me Breakfast  Dads brought the kids to Verill Farms for their Blueberry Pancake breakfast and festival

Thoreau Club Pool Party A huge turnout and gorgeous day for some summer fun.  The kids swam in the pool and played in the waterpark.

Fifer’s Day Parade and Booth BFN marched, rode bikes and strolled from Blanchard Elementary school to Flerra Meadows in the town parade.  The kids decorated their bikes and strollers and themselves for the march.  BFN hosted 2 kids musicians, Ed Morgan and Alex Andrews (Music Together) to perform for the kids at the festival.  It was wonderful to see the kids so excited with singing, dancing and playing instruments!  We had a very successful raffle with several great prizes.

BFN Sponsored Senior Luncheon BFN provided lunch for 60 seniors in town.  The fried chicken was so popular last year the seniors wanted to have it again!

Stone Zoo Day Trip Families visited the Stone Zoo for Earth Day and to welcome spring!  We enjoyed the animals and earth day festivities.  BFN families were joined by families from the Littleton Parents Association.

Drumlin Farms Day Trip Families enjoyed walking around the farm, meeting the animals and a hay ride.

Multiage Playdates at Town Hall and outside at the playground!  Warm weather is on its way!!

Dentist Dr Anna back by popular demand!  She presented a very technical & educational dentistry seminar for parents.  BFN provided free Babysitting!

Boxborough 225th Birthday Party featuring Mr. Vic!  BFN Celebrated the town’s 225th by having a kids birthday party at Town Hall with local musician Mr. Vic, cupcakes and balloons!

BFN’s Chinese New Year Party was a blast! The homemade food was so delicious! The martials arts display, Chinese antique artwork and story time were even educational.

BFN Town Hall WINTER Playroom was fun with around 10-20 moms & kids at each playtime with a Valentines Day Theme!

Playgroups met at member homes as well for toddler and preschooler age groups. The Pre-K group met at the Library for their social play time together!

January 2008

BFN’s 225th Story & Boxborough Trivia Event was led by State Senator Pam Resor and State Representative Jamie Eldridge with Music by the USAF Band of Liberty from Hanscom AFB. Six members of Girl Scout Troup 2040 managed the Special Boxborough Birthday Map Activity and we all enjoyed Refreshments @ Town Hall. It was so successful it landed on the front page of The Beacon Newspaper!  Our trivia book from the event, written by a BFN member, will be on display at the library for all to enjoy.

BFN Moms’ Night Out @ Gathering Kitchen was very productive and fun! BFN provided snacks and drinks.

BFN Town Hall WINTER Playroom opened with 6 moms and 8 kids enjoying snowy winter crafts and favorite toys and snacks! Thank you town hall for welcoming us!

Playdate fun included our 1-2 yr olds running around at a members home and our 3-4 yr olds met at a members home.

@ the Boxborough Library. The 3-4 yr olds had a weekend playdate @ a members home.

Dentist Dr Anna presented a very technical & educational dentistry seminar for parents. She will present again for us in the Spring on 2 occasions, each seminar will have free Babysitting!
