BFN support the
As you might imagine more families than ever are relying on the
food pantry for a Thanksgiving meal. In fact they are expecting to deliver
more than 200 baskets to local families this year. BFN wants to help by supplying as many
baskets as we can. Please consider having your family donate a
basket this year. Get the kids
involved by decorating the basket and making a homemade card for the recipient.
Suggested basket includes:
--Frozen turkeys only (they last longer at room temperature during
distribution)
--Squash and sweet potatoes
--Canned goods such as cranberry sauce, peas, corn, gravy, etc.
--A box of Parmalat (a
shelf-stable milk, which they are in high need of at the pantry)
--Baked goods such as breads, muffins or pies (can be store bought
also)
--Cider
(fresh salad ingredients don't hold up as
well during distribution and are not recommended)

Pantry will be at St. Matthew's Church on Monday 11/17 from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00
p.m., and on Tuesday 11/18 from 3:00 p.m. -5:00 p.m. Any time during those
hours would be fine for drop-off of Thanksgiving baskets.
